ADC Foods: How a 24-Year-Old From Pune is Redefining Protein Snacks

How ADC Foods Is Revolutionizing Healthy Eating With 50g Protein Packs

In the midst of India’s growing nutrition gap, where nearly 73% of diets fall short of recommended protein intake, a young entrepreneur from Pune is shaking up the healthy food space. Suchitra Kodlekere, 24, decided to skip a conventional MBA path and instead launch ADC Foods, offering better-for-you frozen protein bites with 50 grams of protein per pack.

The Backstory: Fifty Books Instead of an MBA

Rather than following the traditional academic route, Suchitra took an unconventional approach. After completing her undergraduate degree in Economics at MIT World Peace University, she faced the usual suggestion: pursue an MBA.

Instead, she challenged herself with a personal experiment: read 50 books across business, nutrition, and personal development to build knowledge organically. This approach not only saved her from the high costs of a B-school but also gave her actionable insights that would later shape her startup journey.

“I started documenting my learning journey on Instagram. Sharing what I read and applied daily drew thousands of followers intrigued by my anti-diet philosophy,” Suchitra recalls.

Her early entrepreneurial experiences included a custom poster and Polaroid gifting business, serving nearly 100,000 customers. This venture helped her finance her education independently and taught her crucial lessons in scaling, customer engagement, and product innovation.

ADC Foods: Bridging the Protein Gap

India has witnessed a surge in protein powders and functional foods, but Suchitra wanted something different: protein from real, whole-food sources rather than supplements. ADC Foods offers:

  • 50 grams of protein per pack

  • Frozen bites requiring no oil

  • Tasty, convenient meals for everyday consumption

“Our goal is to change the narrative that healthy eating is a punishment. Protein-rich food can be enjoyable and a natural part of your daily meals,” she explains.

The product caters to fitness enthusiasts, busy professionals, and everyday consumers seeking high-protein options without sacrificing flavor or convenience.

Overcoming Challenges

Launching a food startup is never easy. Suchitra’s journey included:

  • Early ventures in sustainable clothing and athleisure, which taught her the complexities of capital-intensive businesses

  • Learning the manufacturing and supply chain dynamics for frozen food

  • Educating consumers about protein-rich diets in a market dominated by supplements

Despite these challenges, ADC Foods has quickly carved a niche in the healthy snacking sector, leveraging social media and content-driven engagement to build brand awareness.

The Anti-Diet Movement

ADC Foods is more than just a food brand—it’s a philosophy. By promoting anti-diet culture, Suchitra aims to shift public perception from restrictive eating to empowered, nutritious choices.

This approach aligns with global trends emphasizing functional foods, convenience, and holistic nutrition, making ADC Foods a forward-thinking player in India’s growing wellness market.
